H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Launches Masfout Development Project in Ajman

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, officially inaugurated the Masfout Development Project in Ajman. The launch ceremony took place at Al Safiya Resort in Mushairef, Ajman, and was attended by prominent dignitaries, including H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman, and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development.

During the event, Sheikh Theyab presented Sheikh Humaid with an overview of the project’s strategic pillars, which aim to unlock the social, tourism, and cultural potential of the Masfout region. The launch event also saw the presence of other key figures, including Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, and Mohamed Khalifa Al Kaabi, the Secretary-General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, along with several other sheikhs and senior officials.

The participants delved into the strategic themes of the project, which have been approved by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development. The initiative aims to implement innovative development strategies in Masfout, with a focus on cultural tourism as a driving force behind the region’s growth.

Sheikh Humaid emphasized the UAE leadership’s commitment to ensuring social stability, improving living standards, and promoting the well-being and happiness of citizens and their families throughout the country. He praised the efforts of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, led by Sheikh Theyab, and commended the “Emirates Villages” project as a model for balanced and sustainable economic and social development through partnerships between the government, private sector, and community.

Sheikh Ammar expressed his delight in selecting Masfout as the site for the second project under the Emirates Villages initiative. He expressed the anticipation of showcasing a distinguished development model in the area, incorporating modern specifications that enhance the well-being of its residents and attract tourism and investment. Sheikh Ammar highlighted the Emirates Council for Balanced Development’s role in supporting comprehensive development in the UAE and realizing ambitious future goals by leveraging human resources and natural potential in all regions for the benefit of all UAE residents.

Sheikh Theyab emphasized that Masfout holds significant tourism and heritage potential, along with a pool of talented individuals. The project aims to empower the youth by providing them with economic opportunities. The upcoming project, scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023, will involve the development of tourism, heritage, and service facilities to attract 100,000 tourists and support youth initiatives in the region.

The Masfout Project is the second initiative under the Emirates Villages program, launched by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development. Its aim is to establish a sustainable development model and create new economic and investment opportunities that foster social stability and a high quality of life for the community. The project involves the development of Al Aflaj and the launch of academic, practical, and professional training programs.

Masfout is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and unique geographical location, offering cold winters nestled between mountains and highlands, which attract nature enthusiasts. The city boasts a rich history and numerous historical sites, such as the Masfout Museum, Masfout Castle dating back to the 19th century, and the Bin Sultan Mosque built in 1815 AD.
