Expo City Dubai to Offer Free Entry for International Museum Day

Dubai, UAE – May 7, 2025 — Expo City Dubai will welcome visitors free of charge on May 17 and 18 in celebration of International Museum Day, offering access to the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum and the Garden in the Sky. The initiative invites the public to revisit the legacy of Expo 2020 and enjoy panoramic views of Dubai without cost.

Organised annually by the International Council of Museums, International Museum Day highlights the role of museums in cultural exchange and societal development. In line with this year’s theme, Expo City Dubai is providing visitors with a unique opportunity to engage with one of the country’s most significant cultural landmarks.

Visitors will be able to explore the Expo 2020 Dubai Museum, which chronicles the global event’s impact, innovations, and international collaborations. The Garden in the Sky, a rotating observation tower rising 55 metres above the ground, will also be accessible. The tower, which typically costs Dh40 to visit, offers sweeping 360-degree views of the city and features lush landscaping with ten Peltophorum Inerme trees.

Timed entries will run from 10am to 10pm for the museum and 2pm to 10pm for the tower. For a discounted fee of Dh25, guests can also gain access to three of Expo City’s most popular pavilions: Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, and the Vision Pavilion, normally priced at Dh160.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Expo 2020 mascots Rashid and Latifa will make special appearances between 2pm and 6pm on both days, offering meet-and-greets and family-friendly entertainment.

Those wishing to attend must register online in advance by visiting terra.expocitydubai.com and selecting their preferred visit date. Upon completion, attendees will receive a confirmation email granting them entry to the venue.

Expo City Dubai is easily accessible via the Dubai Metro’s Red Line, which stops directly at Expo 2020 Station. Those arriving by car can enter via Expo Road (E77) and follow signs for the Opportunity and Sustainability parking areas, where 15,000 spaces are available.

This year’s International Museum Day provides a renewed opportunity for residents and tourists to experience the cultural and educational value of Expo City, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and heritage preservation.
