Etihad Airways Launches A380 Service on Abu Dhabi-New York Route

Etihad Airways marked a significant milestone as flight EY1, originating from Abu Dhabi, touched down at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York yesterday, Monday. The occasion marked the inauguration of services for the Airbus A380 aircraft, featuring the renowned Al Residence cabin, a luxurious three-room suite in the sky.

Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming passengers on board the A380 to New York, emphasizing the exceptional travel experience awaiting guests. He underscored the alignment of this service launch with Etihad’s strategy to meet increasing demand and expand its global network of destinations. Notably, this launch follows the recent commencement of flights to Boston, Etihad’s fourth destination in America, demonstrating the airline’s commitment to serving the American market and enhancing its operational footprint.

The introduction of the A380 aircraft will bolster capacity between Abu Dhabi and the American market, facilitating seamless connections to the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. Additionally, this service is expected to attract a greater number of visitors eager to explore Abu Dhabi’s remarkable landmarks.

Of the two daily flights to New York, one will be operated using the A380, while the second will utilize the Boeing 787-9 aircraft, offering a range of seating options including economy class, business class, and first class.
