The Emirates Institute of Finance (EIF), renowned for its excellence in financial and banking education, has kicked off the second edition of the Ethraa Career Fair at its headquarters in Dubai International Academic City.
Over the course of two days, the career fair will witness the active participation of more than 40 prominent banks, insurance companies, exchange houses, and financial firms, offering a remarkable array of over 400 specialized job opportunities in the financial sector. These opportunities are aimed at high school and university graduates, as well as experienced Emirati citizens seeking rewarding careers.
The Ethraa Career Fair aligns with the Ethraa Initiative’s vision, which strives to Emiratize the financial sector and create 5,000 job openings by 2026. This initiative is in harmony with the government’s commitment to generating employment opportunities for its citizens and fostering their active involvement in the national economy.
Saif Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Strategy, Financial Infrastructure, and Digital Transformation at the Central Bank of the UAE and Deputy Chairman of the EIF’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the second Ethraa Job Fair is a crucial component of the institute’s strategic objectives for the 2023-2026 period. The objectives encompass training, development, Emiratization, and smart human resource management.
As the driving force behind the Ethraa Initiative, the EIF aims to establish 5,000 job opportunities for Emirati citizens in the financial sector by 2026. The institute plays a pivotal role in preparing 3,500 positions to achieve an Emiratization rate of 45 percent in the banking sector, and an additional 1,500 positions to attain an Emiratization rate of 30 percent in the insurance sector. Furthermore, there are plans to gradually increase the Emiratization rate in exchange houses and financial companies to 30 percent.
During its inaugural edition in May 2022, the fair attracted participation from more than 50 major banks, insurance companies, exchange houses, and fintech firms from the region. Qualified Emirati talents enthusiastically sought job opportunities in the financial sector during the event held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The first edition of the Ethraa Career Fair successfully welcomed 3,184 visitors, with 1,792 attendees in Abu Dhabi and 1,392 in Dubai. Of these, 1,683 actively engaged in assessments and job interviews with the participating banks and insurance companies, reflecting the fair’s significant impact on facilitating connections between job seekers and potential employers.
