Dubai’s Global Village Introduces Exciting New Features, Fire and Laser Spectacle, 3D Projections, Miniature City, and More

The latest edition of Global Village in Dubai has officially opened its doors, offering an array of captivating attractions that promise to dazzle visitors. Among the highlights is an enthralling hourly fire and laser performance on the world’s largest underwater LED screen at Dragon Lake. The opening ceremony, which commenced at 6 pm, featured confetti showers, music, and special dance performances, delighting guests who had eagerly queued up since 5 pm. To add to the excitement, Dubai Police officers distributed roses to some of the early visitors.

For 55-year-old Karina from Tajikistan, this visit was an unforgettable experience. She expressed her excitement, saying, “I am visiting Dubai, and when I heard that Global Village was opening before I returned home, I was thrilled. I am here with my family, and I am so glad I got to visit this place before I return this weekend.”

This year, Global Village has launched its activities a week earlier than usual, offering a range of new attractions and experiences, running until April 28, 2024.

Here are some of the exciting new additions:

  1. Dallah at the Gate of the World: This iconic structure will host 3D projection shows.
  2. Carnaval: More than 195 rides and games await visitors in this section.
  3. Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium: Featuring ten new exhibits.
  4. House of Fear: The region’s largest House of Fear attraction.
  5. Mini World: A new destination celebrating cultures worldwide through miniature landmarks, street food offerings, game and adventure zones, and a mini golf area.

Global Village promises a packed schedule of 40,000 shows, featuring beloved characters, concerts, street performances, and the new Cyber City Stunt Show – Powered by Surge. International acts such as AAINJAA, Fusion Japan, and DholFoundation will grace the Main Stage, while the Kids’ Theatre will host favorites like Peter Rabbit and PJ Masks.

This year, the VIP parking area has been relocated to the Cultural Gate, and additional lanes have been added to enhance entrance and exit flow.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new bus route, Route 107, originating from Al Nahda Bus Station, in addition to the existing four routes from various locations.

Ticket prices have seen a slight increase this year, with regular Any Day tickets costing Dh30 at the gate, providing entry on any day, including public holidays. The ‘Value’ ticket, allowing access from Sunday to Thursday (excluding public holidays), will be priced at Dh25 at the gate. Tickets purchased through the mobile app or website will receive a 10% discount, with Any Day tickets available for Dh27 and Value tickets priced at Dh22.50.

Visitors can explore over 90 cultures through 27 pavilions, 3,500 shopping outlets, and a diverse range of dining options.

Global Village operates from 4 pm to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, with extended hours until 1 am from Thursday to Sunday. Tuesdays are reserved exclusively for ladies and families, except on public holidays.

After welcoming a record-breaking 9 million guests last year, Global Village anticipates an even larger number of visitors this season.
