Dubai-Türkiye Trade Mission Strengthens Economic Ties with Seven New MoUs

A recent trade mission to Türkiye has led to the signing of seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and facilitated 243 bilateral business meetings in Istanbul between Dubai and Turkish companies. The mission aimed to foster economic partnerships and drive business growth.

The MoUs were signed with prominent Turkish organizations, including the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MUSIAD), and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC). These agreements are designed to enhance cooperation and create new opportunities for collaboration between Dubai-based firms and their Turkish counterparts, particularly in high-potential sectors.

A key highlight of the mission was the ‘Doing Business with Türkiye’ forum, co-organized by Dubai International Chamber, the UAE Consulate in Istanbul, and TOBB. The event featured notable speakers, including H.E. Mustafa Tuzcu, Deputy Minister of Trade of Türkiye, and H.E. Saeed Saqer AlMheiri, Consul General of the UAE in Istanbul. With 254 participants, including senior officials and business leaders, the forum facilitated discussions on potential partnerships and investments.

His Excellency Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, highlighted the strengthening economic ties between Dubai and Türkiye, particularly following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed last year. The trade mission reinforces these bilateral connections, reflected in a remarkable 106.9% year-on-year growth in non-oil trade between the two regions in 2023.

The delegation included representatives from 16 Dubai companies across various sectors, such as electronics, food and beverages, information technology, and energy solutions, showcasing the diverse potential for collaboration between the two markets.
