H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has officially launched the Dubai Digital Cloud project. The initiative, aimed at establishing a world-leading digital infrastructure, was unveiled during Sheikh Hamdan’s visit to the Digital Dubai headquarters.
As part of the project launch, partnership agreements were signed between Digital Dubai, Microsoft, and Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA. The collaboration will facilitate the implementation of the Dubai Digital Cloud project, aligning with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to reinforce Dubai’s position as a digital economy capital and enhance its digital infrastructure.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s commitment to excellence and innovation in advanced technologies, driving the city’s digital transformation in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The accelerated digital transformation in Dubai aims to enhance government operations’ efficiency and improve the quality of life for residents and visitors.
Appreciating the dedication of various government teams working towards Dubai’s digital development goals, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the positive impact of digital transformation on government operations, making Dubai a global benchmark for exceptional digital experiences.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD&CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), emphasized the UAE’s leadership in digital solutions. He expressed pride in partnering with Digital Dubai to provide cloud services to Dubai’s government entities through the Moro Cloud service. Al Tayer highlighted Moro Cloud’s adherence to high security standards and its contribution to the digital transformation journeys of government and private organizations in the UAE and the Middle East.
Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, hailed the Dubai Digital Cloud project as a practical application of the city’s vision for a comprehensive digital government. The project aims to foster connectivity, integration, and competitiveness while providing round-the-clock services to government entities. Al Mansoori emphasized the effective collaboration between the public and private sectors, paving the way for an integrated digital life for all. The project will empower Dubai Government entities in their digital transformation journey, enabling them to deliver best-in-class government services.
The Dubai Digital Cloud project encompasses multiple digital clouds that offer flexibility, operational efficiency, and the best solutions from private to public clouds. It includes multiple service providers to enhance services and competitiveness, giving government entities various options. The project aims to establish an efficient, reliable, and agile digital infrastructure in Dubai, leveraging advanced cloud technologies to improve government services’ efficiency, information security, and decision-making processes.
Marwan bin Haidar, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, emphasized the partnership’s objective of empowering government entities with cutting-edge capabilities to build an agile and scalable infrastructure. He emphasized the commitment to sustainability through the Green Data Center, contributing to Dubai’s sustainability and digital transformation journey.
Matar AlHemeiri, CEO of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment, highlighted Digital Dubai’s commitment to providing a robust environment for the growth and development of Dubai’s digital economy. They strive to establish a resilient and integrated digital infrastructure, leverage advanced technologies, and maintain high standards of security and protection.
Naim Yazbeck, GM of Microsoft UAE, emphasized the power of cloud solutions in transforming public sector services, enhancing digital security, and empowering citizens. Microsoft is committed to providing secure and scalable solutions through its Azure cloud platform.
Digital Dubai signed agreements with Moro Hub and Microsoft to support the Dubai Digital Cloud project. Moro Hub’s platform, Moro Cloud, will provide cloud services, reducing IT infrastructure costs and supporting digital transformation. Microsoft will leverage its Azure cloud platform and provide dedicated platforms for government entities, ensuring security, governance, and compliance with Digital Dubai’s regulations.
Through the Dubai Digital Cloud project, Digital Dubai aims to empower government entities, develop policies and security standards, and authorize service providers accordingly. The project will prioritize the transition of government entities to the Dubai Digital Cloud and assist in selecting authorized service providers based on their requirements and objectives.
