Dubai Government Excellence Programme cultivates culture of innovation and excellence
Dubai- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, graced the graduation ceremony of the inaugural batch of the Innovation Professionals Programme (IPP), a groundbreaking initiative launched by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme. This programme, under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Dubai Executive Council, aims to foster a culture of innovation and enhance the capabilities of Dubai government employees.
In his address, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s commitment to envisioning a future driven by innovation, creativity, and adaptability. Under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the city has embraced a culture of innovation ingrained in its institutional work environment. Sheikh Hamdan praised the paramount focus the government places on fostering innovation and excellence to better serve society.
The event, attended by high-ranking officials including Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, and Dr. Hazza Al Nuaimi, Coordinator General of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, celebrated the successful completion of the first cohort of the IPP.
The Innovation Professionals Programme seeks to empower government employees, cultivating a proactive mindset and a culture of innovation within government entities. By providing exposure to global methodologies and innovative practical tools, the programme enables individuals to embrace innovation as an integral part of their daily work, ultimately improving the lives of Dubai’s residents.
The inaugural batch of the programme comprised 50 government employees from 30 entities, who underwent a comprehensive six-month training. During this period, participants familiarized themselves with global best practices in innovation and developed creative solutions for the challenges faced by the Dubai government.
Developed in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, Ashridge University, and specialized global innovation institutions, the Innovation Professionals Programme consists of three main training modules. The ‘Learning Path’ focuses on building innovative thinking and introducing new topics and tools, while the ‘Experimentation Path’ allows participants to apply these tools to address key challenges. The ‘Exploration Journey’ exposes participants to global innovation practices through seminars and field trips to institutions focused on innovation within the UAE.
Encouraged by the success of the inaugural edition, the Dubai Government Excellence Programme has announced the launch of the second cohort of the Innovation Professionals Programme. This edition will see the participation of 35 employees from 29 government entities, further advancing the culture of innovation across Dubai.
