Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has candidly revealed his decision to turn down a staggering $5 million offer to perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The acclaimed “African Giant” cited a particular reason for rejecting the lucrative offer – his desire to freely enjoy his regular weed without any restrictions.
In Dubai, UAE, the local law strictly prohibits smoking in parks, beaches, and all public recreational areas, which would have limited Burna Boy’s ability to indulge in his preferred habit during his stay.
In a video that has circulated on social media, Burna Boy can be seen freestyling while rehearsing with his band, Outsiders, and sharing his decision. He nonchalantly remarked, “Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollars, which is a small thing to me, because I don’t like going to places where they won’t allow me to smoke my ‘igbo’ [weed].”
Burna Boy’s candid stance on the matter showcases his unwavering commitment to his principles, even when it comes to turning down substantial financial opportunities.
