Ajman Named World’s Second Safest City in 2025 Global Rankings

The emirate of Ajman has been ranked the second safest city in the world for 2025, according to the latest data from global database Numbeo, cementing its status as one of the most secure urban environments for residents and visitors alike.

The annual Safety Index, which compiles crime rate statistics and public perception surveys from cities worldwide, placed Ajman just behind Abu Dhabi, which retained its long-standing position as the safest city globally. Other UAE cities, including Dubai and Sharjah, also featured prominently in the top ten, underscoring the country’s strong reputation for public safety.

Ajman’s achievement reflects sustained efforts by local authorities to maintain low crime rates and enhance community policing. The emirate has invested in advanced surveillance systems, increased patrols, and public awareness campaigns aimed at crime prevention.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, welcomed the recognition, saying: “This ranking is a testament to the dedication of our police, emergency services, and the community as a whole. Safety is the foundation for prosperity, and we will continue to make it a top priority.”

According to Numbeo’s data, Ajman scored exceptionally high on indicators such as low violent crime, strong law enforcement presence, and residents’ perception of safety both during the day and at night.

Residents say the ranking reflects their daily experience. “I’ve lived here for 12 years and feel completely safe walking at any hour,” said Fatima Al Mansouri, a local business owner. “It’s one of the main reasons people choose to live and work here.”

The UAE’s dominance in the global safety rankings comes at a time when cities around the world are facing increased challenges related to crime, economic instability, and social unrest.

Officials in Ajman say they aim to build on this success by further integrating smart technologies into policing and enhancing community engagement to maintain the emirate’s position among the world’s safest places.
