The Department of Finance in Ajman recently convened a series of in-person and virtual meetings with representatives from various government departments in the emirate. The aim was to oversee the implementation of the guide for calculating government services costs, endorsed by Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the representative of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Head of the Department of Economic Development, under Resolution No. 1 of 2023.
This resolution establishes a unified regulatory framework to promote best practices in pricing government services. The Department of Finance is spearheading the supervision of this project, conducting workshops and meetings to train employees of relevant government agencies on the procedures outlined in the guide.
Abdullah Al Janahi, Director of the Government Revenue Department at the department, emphasized the significance of the project in aiding strategic decisions related to service pricing, efficient resource distribution, and budgetary allocations. Tariq Al Marzouqi, Director of the Financial Resources Development Department, highlighted the detailed discussions during the meetings, which focused on cost calculation methodologies, fee updates, and service classification criteria.
The discussions also delved into inventorying government services and cost drivers, as well as determining direct and indirect costs across sectors. These initiatives underscore the department’s commitment to knowledge transfer and support for its government partners, aiming to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction while promoting sustainable development and competitiveness in the emirate.
